Overview/History:
This project will complete stage II construction of an access road from Kotzebue to Cape Blossom, the site of a proposed deep-water port. A deep-water port at Cape Blossom will reduce the expense of barge lighterage service, reducing transportation costs and expanding new opportunities for regional economic development, such as natural gas exploration and fish processing. Completion of the road is needed to transport goods from the port to Kotzebue to be distributed region wide. This project is shovel ready.
